Oonagh’s love of clay started at school when great teachers encouraged her to take A level ceramics. She might have taken this further but had no confidence that she could make it pay and sought a job with a more reliable income.
Here Oonagh met a thriving group of friendly and talented potters that sparked her love of functional ceramics. She joined GCS as an associate member, spending a couple of days a month learning about studio pottery.
The pandemic encouraged Oonagh to invest in a wheel and a kiln, and she began selling work here. Her small batch work is mostly inspired by nature and her Celtic heritage. She hopes that her pots bring a little joy to everyday activities and is grateful for those who purchase her work and encourage her to keep making.
