BAMM (British Association for Modern Mosaic) and Creative Stirling present- “Hanging by a Thread” : Mosaic for Afghan Women
This international project has invited mosaic artists from across the world to create a textile-inspired mosaic to raise awareness of the plight of Afghan women and girls. The pieces created have been joined together to represent a scarf: symbolising culture, traditions and textiles, as well as coming together to spread awareness and call for change.
BAMM have been supporting artists to create work to be featured in this collaborative piece, and have received many submissions from across the UK, and Europe. Local artist, Rachel Davies, with the support of Creative Stirling, will be hosting creative sessions with new Scot women living in Stirling to create work to be featured in the exhibition.
