SHONAH ESCOMBE

Shonah Escombe is a glass artist who works primarily with the heritage skill of stained-glass to create contemporary, bright items. Using the natural environment as inspiration, she produces beautiful stained-glass windows as well as smaller pieces such as suncatchers, herb tags, seasonal decorations, and candle holders.

Her love for glass started after attending an evening class on stained glass which has developed further into techniques such as copper foiling, fusing and painting. She loves the interplay of light in her art, as this allows the viewer to appreciate the textures and colours of this aesthetically pleasing medium. Her previous Editions admissions have shown her craftsmanship, as she upholstered windows from an old apartment in Edinburgh. Both windows are captivating and show her talent as they catch the light.

For this editions, she created a triptych of stained-glass panels depicting scenes from nature. These panels can be sold independently.

Shonah is an inspirational teacher who shares her passion for all things glass. She regularly holds stained, and fused glass day courses at Made in Stirling. She also takes commissions of various scales, and her work can be seen casting light throughout the Forth Valley area and beyond.
