EVONNE FLISH

Evonne’s artistic journey dominated her teenage years and led her to Gray’s School of Art. After graduating, a career in art proved elusive and she worked in various administration posts. After taking some charcoal sticks and a sketch pad on holiday, it reignited her passion for art and she began drawing and painting whenever she could fit it in.

From her home in rural Stirlingshire, Evonne focuses mostly on animals and flowers- anything that catches her eye when she’s out for a cycle, either locally or on holiday. She tries to emphasise the character and personality in each animal she paints and they are usually obligingly nosy, allowing her to get close enough to take photos to work from. Her favourite subjects are cows, pigs, sheep, birds.

Evonne’s preferred medium is acrylics, charcoal and watercolours.

The piece she is exhibiting in this Spring Editions shows how versatile of an artist Evonne is. This collaged still life of a woman consists entirely of torn paper in varying shades of blue, which gives new depths to the artwork.
